Recommendations for gearbox oil

Can anyone recommend what grade and brand of oil to top my gearbox up with? I have a MY99 STI Type-R. Doe's the gearbox require a specific type of oil?

Craig,
I think Subaru recommend GL-5 75-90W oil. From reading previous posts along the way Castrol Syntrax 75-90W seems to be quite popular - so a 75-90 seems right.

In my previous change of oil I used Syntrax 75/90 and now Motul Gear 300 Racing 75/90. What I can say is that both oils are good while Motul seems to be more durable in our hot climate and for hard driving. May be a Redline is better but isn't available here.

I have 10w-40 quakerstate motoroil + a pruduct made in Denmark called Abcon wich reduces transmisionloss by op to 20%.
The company also make oil for paris-dakar trucks.
