Whining noise from Type-R
#1 Somebody said to me that they felt there was a noticable whine from the rear end of my Type-R. Not a tyre whine but they thought it was a diff whine 
They heard it more as I slowed at a carpark exit.
I wonder if this could be causing my rear Toyo T1R tyres to be needing replaced after only 2000miles?
It wasn't picked up when I had my car in for a major service at David Hendry Cars or when a Prodrive mechanic had it for a few weeks. It has always made a whining noise when I take my foot of the clutch when Im going very slowly in 1st. Makes no other noise otherwise.
Anybody else with a Type-R that can put my mind at rest?

just got over major panic as my type r decided to become an aeroplane taking off. Developed a whine from the rear that gradually drowned out firestorm exhaust and chris moyales on radio 1 in the space of a 30 mile motorway journey.
rear wheel bearing apparantly, so having got in towed into the garge, now waiting the bill.
But diagnosis over the phone was rear diff and as my gearbox may be on its way out, that was the obvious first thought.
Type r lives another day.

Hope they didn't tow it ' tow it '... otherwise that maybe why your rear diff and gearbox is goosed!!!

They can be towed aslong as you dont go over 30mph!
And how is the diff going to know it being towed and not driven?
