Default 05 WRX whirring from the rear??

It has come to my attention that in the last 2 months a whirring sound appears to be comming from the rear of the car, possibly the rear diff . Has anyone else had this drama and is it a problem or just the mechanics of the diff? It happens above 30 mph and is there on acc and coasting.

many thanks

Willsy

Hi Dave cheers mate, the noise stays the same loudness no matter how fast i go, i dont think it is broken as i do excess of 100 mph very often so i would of had a serious accident if it was, however i have heard that the rear diff does whirr but was wondering if anyone elses did this or just mine! It could poss be a rear wheel bearing its just hard to trace it when its only there when driving. Its just constant whirr, hard to explain really but it may have always been there but i dont use the stereo much these days so maybe i just now notice it more! sorry for the crap description but as i said hard to explain it!

Willsy, I have an 05 WRX300 with PPP, I don't have a noise as you described, hope that if you have a problem with the diff it's not too serious. Warranty job??
