If it helps in your decision - The Exedy from API is a good clutch and can hold the power. I am running dyno proven 360ft/lb+ torque and the clutch was holding so well it even stripped the 3rd gear on my box only last week.

We have already had email dialog I was very tempted with one of your hybrid STI5 5 speeders to mate up to my UK diff, but went for a second hand hybrid type R box in the end. If I hadn't already commited to the type R box, I would have probably come your way. But if the type R box gives way I will come talk to you with regards a 6 speeder.

I'd rather lose my clutch than my gearbox

So would I............ But I also want as much power from my car as possible. The clutch that was in it before the Exedy was slipping badly in 3rd,4th and 5th causing major loss of power and fueling all over the place. Clutch slipping was probably saving the box, But I knew that and knew I was on borrowed time once a decent clutch went in. Just shame it didn't hang on a bit longer than it did.

360ft/lb is excessive and would have eventually broke a UK standard box. I doubt WRX-RA would be as unlucky as me, and if he put a higher spec clutch in, at least he will have the comfort of knowing it will hold the power if he ever adds to the modifications. And from my experience you can never say never when it comes to modding.
