usually a tensioner problem is with the newer 99-00 car.. you wouldn't be able to tighten it is it were the problem.. would need a new tensioner.

Unlikely but still possible that is the problem.. more likely air con compressor (try taking the belt off and see if it stops) or alternator.

other than that no idea without out more info.

Top left from looking at the engine or from the drivers seat ?
If from the front, it could be a loose heat shield.

its when your stood in front of the car

i thought it was the ex shield but im not so sure ,i pushed a broom handle on the shied and it seemed solid,
the noise seems to be coming from behind the cover of the cam belt thats why im a bit worried

thanks

I'd say it's the heat shield on the up-pipe

I wouldn't expect the heat shield unless hanging off to rattle on idle but possible I guess.

I would remove the cover and check if it is louder if you think it really is from behind cam cover!
