Angry Loss of boost, lots of CELs!! @#?=+$£ Car!!!!

I've come to the conclusion now that my car is in bits!! Just had a new gearbox put in & its running peachy until my drive back from work this evening. I hit a bit of dual carriageway just before I get to my house so of course I open her up a little....well okay a lot!

Anyhow about 500yds into my blat I loose boost totally!! Boost gauge goes from -10 to 0psi & that's as far as it'll go

So I slowly make it home to check under the bonnet:

Dump Valve...fine
all boost hoses...fine
all samco's...fine
Idle...fine

So i'm scratching my head thinking WTF it could be as no CEL has flashed up at all. Even though it's idling fine I change the dump valve back to the stock recirc just to satisfy my curiosity & still no change. If I try & floor it the knock link goes meennttaalll!!!!

So now panic is setting in as i've got to drive my usual 50 mile round trip to work tomorrow with this problem, not knowing if it'll hold up althogh i'm sure it will if i'm very subtle with the throttle.

Next I do the old CEL trick to see if anything will show up & b*gger me if loads of them didn't flash at me!!

23 - MAF (This I bought off a mate a few months back & it was only a year old!)

24 - Idle Air Control Solenoid

41 - No idea?

42 - Idle Switch

45 - Pressure Sensor - Pressure Exchange Solenoid Valve

Now I don't have a clue what is going on as all of these weren't there before???

Anyone any ideas? It idles fine, Lambda looks good for fuel....yet I gert all of these??

are you sure the wastegate-arm is stil on the wastegate?
Had the same a couple of years ago

"45 - Pressure Sensor - Pressure Exchange Solenoid Valve"

If this one came lose on boost the ECU won't see the boost anymore and take's the wrong ignition table. So it could be possible that you've run boost with way to much advance ignition wich gives knock
Maybe i'm now talking Sh*te but i thought this is how it works ?!

I'll take a look a little later. For now i've got to risk the 25 mile drive to work with no turbo

MAFFA

BTW where exactly are you talking about? The hose from the wastegate to the turbo? That's still connected.

Could those error codes have been stored for a while? have you cleared them and gone for a drive, then rechecked? Might narrow down your search

maffa, at the wastegate actuator you put in the front the hose and at the rear you have a steel 'arm' which goes to the flap inside the turbo. If this arm comes lose you cannot make any boost because all of the exhaust gasses go straight to your downpipe instead of your turbo

The Arm is connected by an C-clip which sometimes can come lose

Now that would be a bonus if that's all it is. I'll have to take the heat shield off & have a look.

Not sure about the fault codes as the CEL has never flashed at me? They only came up after connecting the black plug under the dash?

David you're an absolute diamond

Took the intercooler & heat shield off this evening & found that the C clip had vanished and the arm was just hanging due to disconnecting from the wastegate arm . Gonna get a new one tomorrow so hopefully my car will start to drive more like a scooby than a Citroen Paxo LOL

Anyone know the size of the C clip that goes over the arm so I can get one from Halfrauds??

Fixed it . Bloke in Halfrauds gave me a load of them for nothing

I'm suprised they couldn't have come up with a better way of fixing those together. It's a bit pathetic really
