Default Sequential shift on Impreza Gearbox?

Hello

Any one found something to convert the H Pattern movement from the Original Gearbox into a Sequential Movement?

A Company wich make this? Link?
Anyone make this for himself?

You'll need a new box (not a cheap one) for a proper sequential shift.

You could use Aekaya (sp?) sequential shifter with a very well setup dog box. However, you would need to stiffen the gearbox and engine mounts considerably to prevent the shift getting out of alignment under power.

A proper dog box will still allow clutchless shifts with either a slight dip of the power, or an engine cut in the same way a full sequential does. However it will not last for ever, is a pig to drive on the road normally and will probably require servicing after 5000 miles or so depending on how you drive it (could much much less or much more)

no i mean it different

There is a company wich makes these shifters (for the normal gearbox) for the Mitsubishi Lancer

This shifter konverts the normal H pattern wich the Gearbox needs to a sequential pattern

This is what i am searching for the Impreza

i wannt this that the shifting is easyer on trackdays (no brain needed lol)

So you cannot misshift and overrev the engine

Up is back down is forward thats it

Maybe about 2 years ago an ad for exactly this was in the mags, but failed to take off.
It was Jap and it simply bolted 'over' the existing shifter. Looked good, but trade only.

I can't imagine it working very well. No Subaru version available anyway

No you don't mean different, that is exactly the unit I am on about, it's called Ikeya.

However, it doesn't mean that you don't have to use the clutch, so if you want to get a true clutchless shift, then you need to use an H-pattern dog box. This is the setup used by Simon norris in his evo.

Otherwise you are looking at something like Zeroshift which is a set of replacement gears and selectors ising a new gearbox technology. Or you want to speak to Prodrive and have £75 ready to hand over.

That is the shifter unit.
The advert was in a very early Jap Perf/Banzai edition IIRC. Looks good, but a fast hand coordination on the H box will do better!

Just try a dog box in anger and you will have a fast change to be sure, quite a sensation and hard not to use the clutch!

Graham.
