Engine block liners
Has anyone got any experience of fitting new liners into Subaru blocks. I have a closed beck block that the bores are worn past a useable level, so i was wondering if anyone had fitted new liners to a block, or if anyone knows where i might be able to buy some new liners for the engine. If not what is the block worth if i was to sell it.
Thanks very much and i hope that someone can shed some light on this.

They can be relinered but it certainly isnt cheap, I had a 2.2L one re-sleeved with some thick diesel top hat liners to take it out to 2.5L and its very expensive An alternative would be to buy a secondhand short motor complete with pistons, rods & bearings all ready assembled. We have one in stock if you need it.

I very much doubt they are so worn that they can't be re-bored/honed, unless the bore/s are actually damaged with scores deeper that .5mm/20thou', which is possible, but unlikely.
If they can be re-bored, then you have the option of doing that, and fitting oversized pistons.
It really depends on your budget, and if you want an up rated engine, or just back to standard.
Mark.

The problem is the engine has had arod let go and therefore has damaged the liner. Too bad too use really. Do you know of anyone that makes oversize pistons?

Luke,
Ok, "snapped rod" I can understand the liner is shot, "worn" I couldn't !
