Default Link ECU and OE O2 sensor

Does the link use the signal, or do it just display the value?

Mine has died, but it dosn't seem to affect the performance...

/Jesper

ps. is there a way to wire in the AEM wideband into that signal?

Depends if you've got it switched to closed loop or not. I would imagine that it's just displaying the value.

Not sure about the wideband AFR sensor

Open loop. Does the OE ecu run Closed loop? Because i'm having my car inspected, and switched to the oe ecu, when I noticed that the car jerkes when cruising, because of a faulty o2 sensor.

Yes the OEM ECU uses closed loop fuelling below certain MAP/RPM thresholds.

The Link ECU (depending on model) can do the same thing, there are 3 options using the LAMBDA and LAMBDA RANGE settings in the Link Map - I suggest you have a look at the Link manual for your model for details.

I have the simulated narrowband output from my Techedge WB connected to the O2 sensor wire to my Link ECU and it works fine.

Sorry for the hijack, but whats the benefit/downside to running open or closed loop.

I have a v5 Link and am pretty sure its closed loop off boost, what ever that means?

Jake.

Closed loop means that the fuelling is being contantly monitored and updated to meet a target Lambda value and so will allow for changes in temp/pressure/fuel quality etc.

Who mapped your Link?

Bob R mapped it, does the Link allow for closed loop off boost and then open loop for boost?

Yes, the link can run open loop, half closed loop (closed loop below 0.1bar, open loop above) or full close loop.

Bob normally maps them open loop.

Do you have a Handcontroller? If so then check the LAMBDA and LAMBDA RANGE settings.

Andrew, I was thinking of getting a hand controller but are they fairly easy to use? can you log any data from it.
