Default STI SHort engine & heads in a UK Scoob (MY94)

After being for the Infamous Remap & Apexi Pfc with AndyF, I am starting to look towards a replacement for the day my engine dies , It has covered loadsa miles & is running 1.4 Bar, so preparation is afoot.

Can the above be utilized ?? is there a sensor difference beteween the two, requiring a different loom ?? Or is this avoided using the short motor.

Thanks

Dean

sti 3/4 engine is what you want, as the phase 2 onwards heads mean the old manifold will not fit (without serious work that is).

Hi Pavlo,

Are you talking the whole engine here ?? As in a straight swap (apart from bolt on bits of course)

Thanks

short engine, to allow your current manifold to fit on. Or if you want you can fit the 87/98 manifold depending on your ECU. the 97/98 TPS doesn't have an idle switch in like the 93-96 one does, but some ECUs don't use it (GEMs for instance).

99/00 uses a stepper controlled idle valve, so is generally a pain to setup.

You also need the heads though if you want the sti rev limit ?

yes, sti full engine would be preffered for sure, cams and valve train worth upgrades over vanilla WRX parts.
