Will a Terzo Gearbox fit my 99 Uk Turbo
Will this fit my car and will it mess up my gear ratio if it does. Basically is this a viable option as i can source one quite cheap!!

Am not to well up on gearboxes i could change one with ease but i've never been inside one before.
Think i'll just get mine repaired not sure how much its gonna cost yet though

My point exactly i dont know how to fix the 5th gear because i've never worked on the inside of a gearbox before so i will not be able to change the gearset also.

IMHO the phase two UK boxes are no stronger than the phase 1, i have heard of countless more phase 2 uk failures than phase 1.
5th gear nut is not a hard job, no need to split the box.
The transfer casing needs to come off the back of the box to gain access but this can be done in situ with the prop removed.

Is there a guide to doing this anywhere ?
or can someone list the procedure so that i have a fair idea of what i have to do as it will be the first time i have tryed to fix a gearbox?
If it is a simple procedure i would rather do it myself than send it to a garage and at the same time gain some knowledge into gearboxes!!

I know when I was having problems with MY00 fifth gear crunch... a full set if gears wasn't that dear... think it was about £110 + vat... but mines ok again now the cooler weather is here, and topping up the box fluid helped alittle... gonna change all the box and diff oils soon, and then wait until the warmer weather gets here, see what happens from then...
