AFAIK the European spec '05 STI has exactly the same engine as the '02-'04 model. No difference at all.

The JDM car, meanwhile, gets new inlet and exhaust systems, a new faster ECU and revised cylinder heads which have AVCS on both camshafts. The heads have always had bigger ports, and of course you get the twin scroll turbo which is marvellous.

In other ways the Euro car is now much closer to the JDM, and certainly the choice is much less easy than it was a couple of months ago... when I ordered my JDM car.

You did the right thing mate.

Don't worry about it and enjoy your car!

Any news on when you get it, or is it with you?

Oh, I intend to enjoy it alright! I had my last scooby 4 1/2 yrs and really struggled to find anything I liked enough to warrant the hassle and expense of selling it. The STI Type UK with PPP came close, but the JDM car just had the extra flexibility that made it a really satisfying drive. The satisfaction of sticking two fingers up to the 'official' way of buying a new car only gave me an even greater warm, fuzzy sense of satisfaction I'll be keeping it for ages...

It's all converted and ready for SVA right now... tentative collection day is a week on Saturday. Can't wait

I'm not surprised!

I hope we'll see some pictures on here when you get it.

Oddly enough, I know exactly what camera was used I was my Canon EOS 1D with a 24-70 f/2.8 L lens. Thanks for the compliment
