Question Floppy Gear Stick???

Hi, Can anyone shed any light on as to where i will find the springs? for making the gearstick sit central??

It was ok until this morning, now there is no resistance between 1/2 & 3/4 but between 3/4 & 5th its ok,
Is there springs or is it an internal thing in the box??

Advice appreciated guys

Thanks
B

Jack-up the car safely(!)
Find the base of the gear lever close to the end of the gearbox
Buy the above there is a 50mm diameter rubber 'disc' with a similar large washer and a tab on that with a 2 mm hole in it.
There should be a spring right there!

If not, buy one and fit it. Locations for both ends is obvious.

Thanks 911, i'll have a look. I'm assuming that it's just the spring come of one side because it's only slack on one side???

Appreciated m8,
Thanks

Can you describe exactly where this rubber bush thing is?,
I've had a look underneath where the stick comes through from the inside, but its all coverd with a protective rubber, Do i need to take the whole stick out from inside to get access or am i looking at the wrong thing??

Thanks guys,
Billy

Follow where you are looking, and look towards the gearbox. Where the upper and lower arm join the gearbox, it should be obvious. ie 2 pieces of metal with a tiny hole in each to accept a spring end.

Correct thats where it should be, just go to Halfords, they have a bag with a selection of springs in.

Yep, it's missing!
Did the cusco bushes make ANY difference or are they just another ££££££££££££££ spinner?
