we use O.E. oil filters...............cheaper than pattern parts, and normally Motul 15w50 or Millers 10w60 dependant on use...............
tend to find most cars (particuarly classics) never run the same on 5W oils..........and we service/modify a LOT of scooby's/evo's!!

just my two penneth!!

Bought the Motul 15w50 off Alyn, if it's good enough for the rally team it's good enough for me

5w-50 is a grade that is generally being phased out in favour of 5w-40.

The reason for this is it's difficult to make a good one due to the wide viscosity range.

The grade needs buckets of VI Improvers to prop it up and this is its problem as it is prone to shearing with use.

Use a 5w-40 or 10w-50, they're more thermally stable.

Cheers
