Question Gruppe s headers: What happens if I just fit them?

That sounds a bit stupid, but, I am waiting for a V2 set with helix u/p from the Chrome GB.
If i lag and fit them without any other mods to my Stiv3 with full decat/Blitz boost controller @ 1.31 bar, will i see (feel) any gain?
Xmas plan is an AndyF turbo and Apexi ecu, but I fancy fitting the headers ahead of that lot!

comments please...

they really didnt do anything for my car till it was mapped, depending on your level of mods im sure adding hearders and getting the car mapped means less boost with after market headers but more power

The other set of headers live where ... in your garage? That'll keep the temp down ok ...!

Thanks chaps
Think i'll wait for the rest to come and have much fun with the turbo bolts at Xmas...
On the Gruppe S site, they have a set of HKS headers with welded-on heat shields for the wires, water hoses and the oil filter. These shields would prevent full wrapping, so maybe that is a thought, but the up-pipe will need something as so many things are close in that tight area.

lagging is theoretically better for power too.

same can be said for lagging up pipe, turbo and down pipe.

As long as I can get to the bloody EVO's and Nissans all on/above 380 bhp I'll try to be brave!
Hope the box will hold out until a 6 speed is in there.
With the headers, the AndyF turbo, and ApexiFC + Andy mapping i hope for a torquey driveable engine with good mid range punch. A lot of hill climbing is 4000 to 8000 driving under full throttle.

I concentrate on the Three Hills, Shelsley Walsh (Worcestershire), Prescott (Gotherington, Nr Cheltenham) and my Club's hill at Loton Park (Alberbury, Nr Shrewsbury).
Richard, at Shels on the 14/15th Aug.
Grahame Wight Jr has his V10 home built there........

Program is really good for the weekend, except those EVO's and Nissan are there, and the 700 bhp Audi's...HELP!

Promise to try harder....
