APS 3'0 catless down/midpipe. Will I get Boost Creep?
Hi im going to get APS 3'0 downpipe and midpipe installed to my Euro-spec STI. The back box will remain stock STI. Will I get a boost creep?
The system is here. I will get it all, except for tha backbox.
http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/us_spec/subaru/exhausts/apswrx-hoe-r1/apswrx-hoe-r1.htm
( - As far as I understood from the readings, the boost creep happens when the back pipe is too broad, and pressure drops at the end. So in my understanding, the stock muffler should keep the pressure at proper level)
Also, Im sure that CEL is going to be ON, and whats the way to fix it?
Thanks... and yes, You can use catless cars in my area

I´m sure you are going to get some boost creep. If you dont want this to happen you need to port your wastegate or install only a Catback. For the CEL you need to buy a CEL fix Kit.

Brother I´m deeply sorry, I was confused and did some reserch on the topic. Just found out that if you keep the OEM muffler you will not get boost creep.
Try reading the following forum at nasioc.

Well that's got me thinking...
I have an EU import WRX (not STi), with a 3" APS turbo back system, sports cat and 2.5" backbox.
I don't currently have a boost gauge fitted (bad idea I know) - but RR runs don't show it to suffer boost problems (runs consistently at sub 1 bar).
Haven't had the CEL fix and never had the light come on. Never had fuel cut.
Plus it measured 270bhp at G-force! - guess the boost gauge is a must!

You can get CEL fixes online - do a search and you will find it or check Vishnu, CobbTuning, SELGP, etc. Space out the O2 sensor bung or you can add a simple resistor. The Cobb downpipe is excellent...just not sure what fits your car. cobbtuning.com is the site.

To Vadimsti:
To your question to the Downpipe. Just make sure your downpipe is a divorced or bellmouth. Divorced Downpipes: Vishnu, Perrin or Prodrive. Bellmouth: Helix, Cobb or Invidia. You should go Vishnu but the problem is the Price $$$. If you want to check it log to www.vishnutuning.com.

Do not waste you money on HKS, its crap!. Its not divorced or bellmouth so it will restrain the flow of you wastegate causing trubulence in all your exhaust.

do u know any vendors of invidia/cobb/vishnu/perrin in the UK? cause shipping of dp to my country (Estonia) from USA will cost almost as much as the dowpipe itself...

I've got the full APS 3" system on my car and I don't get any boost creep, but at the moment I do get a pretty large spike (+5psi) before the boost settles down. Mine is only a UK MY95 so I don't know if it will affect you the same way.
Are you sure the stock STI backbox will fit on the APS system? The APS uses a 3 bolt flange and doesn't reduce diameter at the flange like some other systems.

well, im not 100% sure that it will fit, the local APS dealer has told me they can replace only down/mid pipes, leaving the back stock. But since stock pipes are 2,5", the muffler can not to fit.
moreover, im not sticking to APS only, because planning to replace downpipe only, and as STI BOB nas mentioned, as well as some other people, there is a good supply of various HQ downpipes.
If someone can advice me a UK dealer who sells INVIDIA/Perrin/COBB/Vishnu or other comparable DP, I would be greateful.
