Default Pro Drive Conversion Options

Hi guys,

I recently bought a 00 Xreg Impreza Turbo (Standard). I love the car but wanna do something to it.

I got prices on a prodrive conversion, but it was alot of money, I would have to sell my mother, and some of yours too :P

Could I buy another exaust for my car, that I can fit, and uprated disks and pads, then just get the ecu upgrade from subaru ?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Loads of exhaust options. From £215 - £400 for a back box, or get a second hand Prodrive bb as per the PPP from the For Sale section for £150.

Replacing the downpipe and centre section of your exhaust to remove the catalysts, together with a new bb will give an immediate improvement in performance. Approx cost of new dp £250, centre £100. Again, much cheaper if you pick up second hand from the For Sale section.

Get your ECU remapped. Ecutek remap by the someone like BR Developments - Group Buy price, if the group buy hasn't closed, is £500+VAT. Much better value than the PPP.

Most importantly, do your homework before embarking on any modifications to keep things running safely.

Thanks for that slowboy.

I have been reading up about it, spoke to Subaru at monks heath about it, and they reckoned it was a 'safe' upgrade to the car.

Dont want to look a fool here but what does ppp mean ?

Been looking around alot at magnex and a few other places, but I didnt want to go too far in one jump, so thought sticking with prodrive stuff was 'safer'

Unles you saw something I didnt (likely) I couldnt see one for sale.

Thanks for your help

One more thing. You could always pick up a 2nd hand PPP ecu. They come up for sale occasionally, for around £400. This way, you can get the whole Prodrive package for around £650. (Including intercooler hose.)

PPP = Prodrive Performance Package. They also offer a handling package for suspension, etc.

Safe is always good. Choice of back box won't raise any worries. Magnex, etc will be fine. I believe the Prodrive box is made by Scorpion. Main thing when choosing is how loud you want it. Scorpion, Magnex, Scoobyworld Ninja are modest increases in noise. Vortex, Blitz, HKS Drager are loud.

Ah I see. I heard/saw a scooby leaving the garage with prodrive conversion, and I liked the sound of it.

OK, well I will have a look around the for sales again, see if I can find a 2nd hand exhaust.

Really really appreciate your time on this. Thanks.
