Question A backbox that is not too loud!

Hi,

What suggestions are there for a backbox that doesn;t deafen you whilst on the motorway.

Thanks.

Sounds good. Where are you and what condition is it in. Just to be awkward, why is it better than a Magnex?

Im in Manchester

Its in very good condition and is less than a year old,

Currently on an my98, sounds bobbly,

I wouldnt say better, but it is made specific for a scoob, looks and sounds great (but not dead loud)

I would say Magnex make more noise than bobbly flat 4 sound.

The tail pipe is 3" rolled lip, polished stainless that sits flush with the bumper

Reason for sale is that i am investing in a nice loud afterburner!!!

P&P is not a problem but you would have to foot the bill

email me if you interested

Magnex 6X4 is not too loud nor too quiet, and releases a couple of those critical bhp

Another for the magnex. Nice sound without being over the top & very good quality for the price.

Magnex gets my vote if it's 'quiet' you are after. Mine was measured at 93Db @ 4000rpm

Got a decatted ScoobySport and it sounds fantastic. Loud, but not too loud. before I fitted the decat the S/S backbox was much better than standard, but not as good as it sounds decatted.

Magnex 6X4 Oval. Nice and burbly pootling round town but can "talk the talk" over 4000 RPM. Also takes a nice shine with brasso / duraglit / aotosol

The quietest one IMHO is the Prodrive one

I had PPP and you'd be hard pressed to really notice it over standard, yet it also releases some horses. Oh & the PPP comes with centre de-cat as well, so more horses released for same level of noise.

Sort of whistles under full load like a jet-fighter taking off

hey Puff

So is that a good thing or a bad thing? If its really quiet, is there any point upgrading just to get a better sound if you won't notice it?

I want a nice noise, and I've heard some gorgeous one's, but I don't want to wake the baby/give the wife a headache.

Are there any sound files of these contenders? - magnex/scoobysport/prodrive/WR sport etc.

I think its a good thing. Fine for tootling round town etc but a bit more noise when on full chat. Mine came with PPP so 252 horses instead of 218
