Default Changed backbox.......why does she feel different?

Hi all, a have a my96 Uk turbo wagon with:

Full decat -H&S decat downpipe
H&S centre ( decat, but 2 piece...? )
Ninja baxkbox

Hks performance filter - green sponge type

Scoobyecu - running about 1.1 bar.

After fitting the backbox recently I've noticed that although the boost gauge is reading between 0.9 - 1.1 bar depending on humidity and outside temp etc etc....the car still feels "lumpy" and something just aint right.

Yesterday, decided to push the car hard but didn't seem to want to exceed 120mph ( yes, on private runway ).

I've disconnected the battery for a couple of hours tonight and taken her for a steady 12 mile run and not exceeded 3000rpm until the final 2 mile home.

Needless to say, she feels no different to me.

Question is, I've noticed that the centre section is a 2-pce pipe and had to slightly change the position of the "joint" on fitting the b/b. Has anybody ever heard of a 2-pce decat centre section, and would this cause a loss in performance, or, is the full decat perhaps causing a few probs with the scoobyecu, the boost gauge would suggest not.

Any theories would be appreciated and before any wise cracks, it is a turbo and not a sport ( RE: 120mph , no disrespect to sport owners intended !!)

Thanx in advance.

Skoosh.

I have got a 2 piece 2.5" centre section fitted to my MY98 WRX. I cant see that it will make any difference whatsoever as the diameter is never below 2.5", even at the join. The first pipe fits inside the larger section of the rear part, so no reduction.

Not sure about the power/speed issue though.
