K+N PANEL FILTER
#2
I ditched mine a while back. I was getting uneven idle and some det which I suspected the filter was causing. Apart from less induction roar the paper element felt no different (but the idle went back to normal and not det).

To be honest, as long as they're clean, I don't think there's a great deal of difference between the well-known brands. I think the STi is better than the K&N, but I'm comparing a brand spanking new "dry" filter, to an 8 month old dirty bone-dry "oiled" filter... plus a hint of placebo...

People say that the Green panel filters are very good as well...and, it just so happens , ahem, that I have a brand new, unused, still in the box one of these, surplus to requirements if anyone's interested?

Ran a K+N panel filter for 3 years on my MY95 WRX with no problems at all - was good for 300BHP along with other supporting mods.
