AFR reading
Just wondered what your AFR does whilst driving around on motorway at a constant speed?
Mine does very little until I accelerate then it goes rich, then drops off the scale again. Is this quite normal, or am I driving around underfueled all the time?
thanks,
Mark

What AFR gauge are you using? sounds like a Lambdalink.
I know the Autometer ones show closed-loop, so you'll see a knight-rider effect on cruise with those.

lambdalink
I have just fitted my Lambdalink and i have also found it to be giving a random display when at 70 on the motorway and at idle.It does give both green leds under high boost(steady display).
Is this the way this meter works??.

Yes - the green LEDS should light on WOT indicating a richer AFR but on cruise the ECU will be in 'closed loop' control (hunting for stoich AFR ~14.7) therefore will be random.

mine is the dawes one.
So its when your giving it some welly, thats where the reading counts? If so, then I'm on overfuelling - which is atleast better than under.
Normal cruising shows blips up and down the meter.
