Question

Now on my second full tank. Must say I noticed a big difference from the start without doing anything with the ECU.

Would there be anymore benefits from doing this?

Has anyone tried it?

Thanks
Rikki

Thumbs up

Rikki23,

I reset my ECU last weekend on my MY00, and the difference was amazing mate. Well worth climbing under the dash for a few minutes.

From what I've read on here, the earlier ECUs aren't that good at adjusting themselves. Try it, it's well worth it for the grin factor

Cheers Phill C

Thanks Phill.

Anyone else tried it?

Anyone know a link to a past post with good ECU reset instructions please? Sorry for being lazy but it sometimes take a while sifting through the archive posts.

Regards Rikki

Is it perfectly safe to do the reset? Are there any risks or negative side-effects?

Hi Rikki !

Just put my first tank of Optimax in today so will see how it goes as well

I thought the MY00 didn't really need the ECU reset though ??

Cool

Hi Gray - good holiday?

I found the MRT ECU reset instructions and did it and the result = WORTH IT.

The car went much better after using the Optimax but it is picking up even better now I have done the ECU reset. 1st and 2nd gear are manic now - I'd like to know my 0-60 time. This will be my lowest fuel consumtpion yet on this tank - on about 87 miles and half empty oops

You'll only have to reset again after you fit the downpipe

I'm going to Scoobysport on 20th if you want me to pick one up for you!!

What are you having done Dave?

Have you had anything else done since we last spoke?

Just getting it checked over (on select monitor to check Lambda etc) before Bob Rawles fits and maps the Link on the 22nd.
I have a new power steering pump on order from Japan so hope to get that fitted as well. My old pump started leaking and was replaced earlier this year with a UK one, but it has never really felt right since and is now making a noise (bearings?). Also I had one scary moment approaching a roundabout near Oxford at about 80mph only to discover I couldn't turn right at all, only choice was to scrub the speed off and coast up onto the kerb. Once stopped everything was OK again. So I have little confidence in it.

Thinking of upgrading the intercooler next.

Superb thanks

You?

I really don't think I can wait much longer to get the downpipe and centre section from SS ... applied for one of those credit cards with 1.9% APR for the 1st 6 months ... and if I get one of those ...
