He's probably right, most 93 WRXs do, they were not only on the RAs. 94 onwards is RA only I think.

All single turbo legacies have CDBs too, or at least those with original engine.

93 is about K or L reg usn't it?

A friends L plate WRX wagon SA doesn't seem to have a CDB, well, there's none of the tell tale hatchings on it that are present on an RA engine of the same vintage.

MY93 WRX.... closed deck for me too . From what i've read most seem to have them at this age. It's the MY95 (260PS) onwards WRXs that don't.

I have a k plate WRX also but as far as i am aware they dont have a cdb i also thought it was the Ra's that had them, my car was regestered new on 11/92 so it's one of the first, i would have thought that later car's would have been more likly to have this but i might be wrong, although if it does good stuff then !

I thought it was 92 wrx saloon 93 wrx saloon and early 94 wrx saloon had closed deck blocks as standard and early legacys after that it was the RA 's that only had them.

Have a look back at one of my old threads, that will tell you how to idendify if your block is closed or not (remember your looking for the patern on the block and not the heads!)

closed deck block

Rourkey.... why do you think the later cars are more likey to have them. Remember the early cars were around when the rally teams were under group A rules (92-93 only the RA and WRX was around, no Sti)

I wouldn't hold any weight behind what the book says.... there are several things said in their that i would take with a pinch of salt.

Not sure i know what you mean by 'better luck next time'?
