I've used EBC Greens, EBC black, Mintex 1155 and some others which I can't remember on Tarox Disks. I have to say that I'm VERY pleased with the Mintex pads.

Good for both Hillclimbing (good from cold) and a bit of track playing.

I'd go for Mintex again I think ~ unless someone else could convince me not to.

Pagids offer very little extra performance, and cost twice as much, sometimes more.

Mintex are the best VFM 'comp' spec pads.

My front pads are up for renewal (coincidently since getting a Unichip....wonder why!! )

What the best around at the mo. Ive had Mintex 1155 last time and was VERY impressed, are these the best ones to go for, what about pagids.

Thanks

Richie

I get 1155s (for 4-pot calipers) for £50, but that is a 'special' price

Best standard price (I think) is Falkland - £60

RichieC,

I had the pads replaced at the same time as a LOT of other work (blown piston) so I don't recall how much they were.

I don't remember them being particularly expensive ~ but that could have been because of the rest of the bill !!!!

I did use some pads for a while which scared the **** out of me as they did nothing except squeal the first time you pressed the pedal ~ ZERO retardation. I think they were some what extreme. Supplied by the guy who build my car as "something to try" !!!

Cheers

Mark

Thumbs up

I got my Mintex 1155's from Falkland. I think I paid 60 quid for each set. ie for a set 4 front pads and much the same for rear pads. Get your SIDC discount.

They work fine from cold, so are good for road use. They squeal a bit until you hit the brakes hard. They make pedestrians in the road look round! They seem to stand up to Knockhill OK. Only down is huge amounts of dust. I suppose that is OK if you fancy anthracite wheels.

Dust from 1155's.....
Cover up my GOLD wheels
Not that I'm ashamed of having gold wheels...
On the contrary in fact.
