the cat sensor (the one after the turbo) needs to be plugged in its part of the engine management circuit Speedo inop will put car into limp home mode (wont rev above 4000rpm) Sounds like the garage who fitted the decat section have damaged the gearbox speedo drive Hope this helps

HI KEV

The sensor in the Exhaust is the cat on fire sensor.
It does NOT need to be in. Tie it up safe in the engine bay.
Your lambda is in the manifold. I have a 92 wrx.
Make sure the Garage re set the ECU,if not, Unplug the battery for
1.5 hours and then take for steady drive, this will sort the limp mode out.

Not sure about the speedo, as said, it could have been disconnected or
damaged when they did the de cat.

Hope it gets sorted

As already said when there is a fault with the speedo cabling the ecu will not let it rev above 4500 and goes into safe mode etc..

Check the speedo cable and electrical plugs on the gearbox..
