How long until clutch dies...
#1
Had a little blast down the local dualy yesterday and the clutch seemed to slip in 2nd and 3rd at full chat...
Had another go to see is it was the clutch but it was fine, but it was defo the clutch as it stank as they do...
Does this sound like new clutch time or something cheaper...
I have a Helix Organic clutch on there at the mo and it's about 4 years old, was thinking of going for another Helix, but has anyone got any recommendations...and where's the best place to buy...
Thanks in advance,
John.

Scooby Regular
Drive at around 35-40mph in 5th gear
Then start to accelerate gently and if the revs rise roughly in line with your speedo then all's well however if the revs rise and your speed doesn't then your clutch is knacked
Cheers

Dont forget, the more you drive it, once it does start to slip, the more the heat build up in the flywheel ,whaich can cause serious "heat cracking", resulting in a new flywheel being needed at time of clutch change. Moreso better to get it replaced asa rather then later, it hurts less on the pocket in the long run.
