Cool

MY95 WRX with what appeared to be a noisy alternator/power steering belt (old one was a bit perished). New belt fitted but noise still there. No noisy on tick over but if you turnr the wheel statinoary it whines loudly, and just revving staionary ir whines... when driving it feels like the belts slipping but its really tight and it whines as you drive... any clues anyone?

Maybe the drive belt on the alternator is too tight and its the bearing inside which is whining ...........you should be able to twist the drive belt half a turn

Belt will be fine then, you need Automatic Transmission fluid to top up the Power steering fluid.
