reused old styl tensioner should be fine, that is to say I haven't heard of even a old style tensioner failing, second hand or not.
David, what happened to you being a rough ****? You haven't gone all perfectionist on us have you?

If you are careful you can use a mole grip to lock the cams that are on lift - line up everything up and then lock it.
I reused my MY99 tensioner - but lesson learned elsewhere would lead me to use a new one!

Be very careful when using Molegrips on the pulleys, it works perfectly on metal pulleys but will break the plastic ones.
