What's the consensus on the ATG replacement air filter? I've heard mixed thoughts; good improvement allowing to car breath more easily, on the other hand; oily bits get where they shouldn't and cause big problems.

I have one. Should I change it or keep it ?

Cheers

Alex

I have an ITG filter in my STi 5 - no problems as yet.

I think the problems mainly came from incorrect fitting of the panel, and also not wiping off excess oil before fitment

Have had one in for the last 3 yrs, but my HKS turned up today so will be fitting that. Will find out if the goop from the ITG has invaded the pipework.

I'm running an ITG panel on my 98 wagon.

Never had any trouble with it, but i can honestly say i've not noticed any difference in performance.

A small amount of goop in the bottom of the air box. None had appeared to have entered the air flow though.

ITG here too - tried a JR panel and noticed that the car didn't seem to pull - so went back to the ITG. I periodically check the inlet and MAF for any oil contamination - but to date it seems to be fine

I used an ITG panel filter for about 6 months, before fitting my K&N induction kit. The car did seem to run a little smoother with the ITG compared to the original panel filter. On removing the ITG I saw no 'green goop' in the airbox. The air path and MAF sensor were clean as well.
