Question

OK Guys

After having me scoob for a couple of years now, I want more...

Firstly its a 99-00 Ver6 STi TypeR

So far I have fitted a Hiper BB and decat centre.

Now I would like to fit the decat downpipe and a Dumpvalve, Whats the best DV, (I have a flamer kit already fitted and would like it to work) once these bits are fitted do I need a remap, what does this consist of, will I need a ECU replacement ar what ever, if so what will the replacement cost me, if no replacement needed what will a remap cost me and who's best in Cambridgshire area or surrounding.

I've got some Lamco gauges on the way, there is a oil, volt, temp.

I'm looking at getting a boost gauge in place of the volt one (dont see the need for this to much, is that right).

I keep on reading about Knocklinnks, I run my car on Optimax and Millers 1 bottle for every 50litres, do I need one, what do they show, how do you fit them. Are there any other makes on the market apart from the ugly square box shaped one...

I'd really like about 320bhp what else should I do for a nice reliable buch of horses.

Cheers guys.

dazza

Red face

Get a knocklink.
Get it now.

Your car could bet detting to blimeny, or your ECU may be retarding your ignition and costing you power, and you wouldn't even know! Your car was not designed to run on UK fuel, and you have started tuning it for more already.

I would get a knocklink first of all, and then consider a remap, a it will let you run UK fuel (no octane booster required) and will probably liberate more power, but without using scary Japanese ignition maps.

Dunno if the EcuTek will work on your car: I expect so.
