Am considering fitting a Dawes device at some time in the future to improve boost level and hence performance.
Anyone got any opinions on this gizmo ? Can you just fit it on it's own, I have a boost gauge already - is this all I need with it ? And how much boost is safe for a standard MY98 engine ?

It's a simple fit, you simply adjust it to give a max of 1.1bar, although I've only set mine to 1 bar, goes well enough.
Gives full boost in all gears, as opposed to being somehow resricted in 1st and 2nd.
Buy, fit, and enjoy!!

got one fitted to my car. make sure that you have an accurate boost gauge as well as a knocklink and an AFR meter fitted. i wanted to be ultra safe so i have the boost turned down to about 1.0 bar until i get my variable rate fuel pump fitted. you will notice the boost kick in about 500 - 750 revs sooner and you will have the full boost from that range to the rev limiter. serious amount of grunt for £60. once the bits and pieces have been fitted you then can dial in as much boost as you want but i will be sticking to about 1.1 bar as i dont want an engine rebuild.
time for some 550cc injectors and a remap methinks.
cheers
big sinky
