Apologies for being thick but can someone answer my question:
What kind of performance increase can fitting a de-cat exhaust give, and does it have any affect on emissions or other MOT aspect?
Cheers

With full decat you can forget the MOT. Performance wise, you will be looking at gaining 20-30 bhp.

I was just quoting general opinion around here, however after investigating the dyno runs, you have a point.
However, my car gained a faster spool up and pulled generally harder especially when overtaking. Car is now also much less breathless higher up in the rev range.
Other than a dawes device, probably the best bang for your buck.

The only consistent thing you can say about rolling roads is that they are inconsistent. Some people would stake their mortgage on them LOL . Too many variables involved, good for showing if your car is sick and possible to show improvements done on the same day, by the same operator under the same conditions. You simply cant compare one set of figures done one different days, different operators and especially different roads. If they are that accurate how come two runs show diffeent values for the same car on the same day ???

Decat yep probably 20bhp tops and yep no cat = no mot

Well,My MY01 comes with 218bhp as standard and I have a full decat ( Scoobysport Up-pipe,downpipe,centres and backbox) together with an ITG panel filter and it made 262bhp on the rolling road (Well Lane,Batley) so that makes an overall increase of 44bhp over standard!! (Plus I only use normal unleaded as that's all my fuel card will accept )

Cheers

Nick
