im looking to do the same with my PPP MY01 (Reg in June 2001) classic wagon, spoke to pete at SS and he said had to put in a 2000 spec ecu, however today I lifted off the kick plate and ive got a pink STi lable serial number SP A18 000 DIX, 1001056110, very confused.

I would think you'd be better off buying a standard ECU and having that tweaked by Ecutek. You could then either sell your Prodrive one or save it for putting back on your car come selling time.
MarkB1, if you have a classic shape then the PPP will have a STI sticker as all PPP's did, what you could do is sell the PPP and purchase a non PPP board, those are available if thats what you want to go.

I think we are talking MY00 Classic Scoobs here?
Zetech, it sounds like you have a PPP'd car. Have you got blue Prodrive intercooler piping and Prodrive stamped on the single exhaust tailpipe? You should also have a certificate and six months warranty left.
If so, an EcuTek 2.5 remap would seem unnecessary as you've already got around that level of performance (and warranty). But if you're going for a few more mods (exhaust/turbo?) then an EcuTek 3 custom remap would be ideal. But as Bob says, the way to do this would be to sell your STi ECU for a few hundred quid and remap a stock ECU. They are, I believe, exactly the same, just with a different map on them and a sticker. Your paying for the map, not the ECU.
Also fit a KnockLink, or other det detection device (Bob can supply). I've not had one long but it's a real eye-opener and also shows just how sweet-running an EcuTek 3 remap is. Mine's a flyer
Richard.
