Default NEW ECUtec Mapping Group Buy at Power Engineering

Power Engineering have offered to do a group buy for anyone wanting the licenced ECUtec package fitted and mapped to their car. I have secured some fantastic prices and I can vouch for the quality of their setups.

They have previously mapped a UK Turbo 2000 - 208 BHP upto 276bhp/260lbs/ft, a WRX from 220BHP to 280BHP/275lbs ft and my STi v7 from 265bhp to 317BHP/305ft/lbs, the last 2 figures included a catalyst so for all you naughty people without CATs you should see a little more as well. To get the figures above the car needs to be running a full performance exhaust (with or without CATS)

Power Engineering can fit these at same time as your visit for a reduced fee (contact them directafter adding your name to group buy if you have specific requirements)

Cost for 2001 car onwards > £595.80+VAT
Cost for 1993-2000 Car > £574.50 + VAT

Prices for WRX, Turbo 2000 and STi

STi owners Can expect to get between 305BHP and 325 BHP depending upon setup. Lots more if further modified tho if its already modified one would presume its already been mapped.

One thing Power Engineering have achieved for me on every vehicle I have taken to them is much improved fuel economy, very imp for thirsty Scoobies.

Monies will be payable directly to Power Engineering although a 10% deposit will be required once numbers confirmed, again payable to PE.

Once you have ECUtec licence future mapping is much cheaper.

Cheers Rob

Question

and my STi v7 from 265bhp to 317BHP/305ft/lbs, the last 2 figures included a catalyst
Is this with a sports cat in the downpipe? If so, which downpipe is it?

I'm toying with the idea of having my MY02 STi ecuteked, but need to decide on a downpipe first. Not sure yet whether to decat, or choose a sports cat model. I've already changed the centre and back box to a nur spec R.

Would be interested to hear what you fitted.

Thanks

Mark

Chris Purvis,

Ecutek is not available on 92-98 cars. They can do a different type of remap but to my knowledge, they do not like touching STi's up to 98.

Nelson, what other mods do you have?

Remap by PE is around £180 inc as long as you have ECUTec licence. For people that know ECUTec is Sister company of Power Engineering, they are in same building and if theres ever a probl;em when mapping etc they just call the head ECUtec develper and he may map your car himself - They call him MERV!

I trust these guys implicitly I travel from Herefordshire to Uxbridge because as far as I am concerned these guys are better than anything closer. They are sympatheic to costs and never fit stuff that is unnecessary.

The licence is required to be purchased (as of any ECUtec dealer) for use of the software so the charge for mapping is "ECUtec licence+actual labour and use of rolling road". Subsequent visits require only labour and rolling road.

I will ask PE if any further discount is possible however they normally charge £650+VAT or £675+VAT so on their rates there is already a substantial discount.

The tuning will be arranged at a suitable date once numbers are sufficient.

Can anyone interested please add their name below

The PPP will be superceeded however it may be possible for you to sell that prior to going to PE where a std ecu is mapped to your requiremnts. The present performance from your PPP will be improved uopn, guaranteed. Plus you get a nice plot etc to see the improvements, both b4 and after.

cheers

Rob

hoping to get mine up from 317bhp to 400+

DBM - I am running a MY00PPP with a full Decat and Green Panel filter. I have the restrictor drilled out to 1.3mm. I got 252BHP and 261 ft/lb torque which isn't bad but I'd like to get a bit more. So I assume from what I have just read I would need to buy a standard 99/00 ECU before considering this ReMap ?

Sorry to ask these questions guys but i am seriously thinking about my options on upping the power.

I think you will find they deffo cant do MY98's as the ecu and software are tottally different eg 32 bit instead of the usual 16bit if i am not mistaken

P E can only be described as fantastic,

Had my MY99 remapped in march on Last group buy, There attention to detail was amazing.

I had a problem with a miss fire and loss of power. These problems were sorted out really quickly (had a cracked spark plug and needed a new MAF) before they started the remap.
Chris spent ages getting the boast just right (Atleast 6 runs on the rollers) and the results were well worth every penny.

Got 274BHP and 272lbs of torque with a full decat magnex and K&N.

If you've never had your car on the rollers be prepaired for a shock!!!! talk about loud!!!!

Nelson, if you look at Danny boy's figures, you can expect around the same as the mods are almost identical. The totque from the PPP is quite good, but will be improved with a TEK map. You will feel the difference, almost like adding on the decat downpipe again

hi all ,

i have an MY00 uk turbo with ecutek2 and full decat which was all done in november 2003 by scoobysport ..

from what i have read in others posts and threads (and correct me if i've picked up the wrong end of the stick) the ecutek2 is an off the shelf remap. like a sort of generic setup.

so can i now get P.E. to do me an ecutek3 or a remap tweaked to my specific car and mods?

hope i'm not talking nonsence ..... sorry in advance if i am .. quite new to all this mapping.

oh... if i have a reciept for the work, does that count as a license or is it an actual printed form thing ??

How many is needed for the group buy to go ahead?
The car is mapped on the roller's is it ? so no need for blasting around on road's i don't know in the pissin rain!
The car is a MY01 WRX UK i have a ppp downpipe to be fitted ,the 3rd cat is gone allready but will need up-pipe and mabey a uprated fuel pump.
Don't wanna wait around for age's for this to take off ,but am a serious buyer if we can get on with it.Will speak to PE regarding exhaust/pump once i know the time factor.
SO COME ON GET YER NAME DOWN!!!!

Terry, if it was me I would stick with the TEK2 for now. As you say, its an off the shelf map ideally suited to the mods on your car. A TEK3 will give you precise changes for your mods, but it would add little value IMHO. If you were changing the turbo etc, then a TEK3 would be more valuable.

Mike - get in there! Its done on the rollers BTW.
