I v'e had an expensive morning !

looked for Motul 300..did not find.
looked for Castrol Rs...did not find.

as for the gear oil well I've been "all over the cook shop."

ended up buying it like this. (rather expensive way of doing it, me thinks )

Where can I buy it from now that City Speed have gone to the dogs.
tried Halfords,
tried motor factors,
tried road abuser,
got it from motorworld, in miniscule quantities in the end, still not got enough.

LOL - I've just had to do the same thing!

My MY99 needs 4 litres gearbox oil and 0.8 litres for the diff, so 5 Syntrax - don't know anywhere that sells it in quantities larger than 1 litre though. Got the mobil 1 for 27.99 - just come down at Halfords, but needed a 1 litre too as the car needs 4.5 - bugga! I still need the extra syntrax but the 4litre + 1 litre mobil and 4 syntrax came to 76 quid

I just signed the switch chit, never looked at the price,
I might have ended up puttingh it back on the shelf if I did.

As for the engine oil...
BOLLOX I forgot that was only 4L (mine takes 4.5L)

<rying into my used oil now>

I was gonna try powerstation for the gear oil they use silkolene and should have plenty kicking about.Got Mobil 1 from halfords, cheap like the buddgie (£27).
You would of thought there would be somewhere around here that sold everything you needed under one roof!

Fuzz

I think I have some Mobil MS kicking around if you are desperate ?

You may find 4l might just do the job, as you don't really want it up to the full mark on the dipstick anyway

all is cool people

I've left gearbox and diff for now till I get enough oil together. I'll go back to motorworld when they have re-stocked.

went back and got another 1L of mobil 1 MS....£11:49

I'm only fretting as I didn't think i would have it sorted for the RR day Sat.
all back together, had a bit of a fright with the up-pipe not aligning but all done now and no leaks.
test drive after tea
sounds tooooooooo loud
