Looking for a high quality boost gauge, preferably an electrical one, that can measure up to over 2.5 bar.
does anyone know if such things exist.
please dont move this to wanted as it is not a request to get one, merely a request for knowledge that they exist.
presume cossie type people will know about this sort of thing.

paul,
it may work, but I am guessing i would not be able to resolve it to any accuracy at the level I want.
How about <3.0 bar
david, never had an spa presure. but that might be an idea. would prefer analogue though, it is easier to read quickly.
defis only go up to 2.0 bar. Had one before.

The SPA one is a nightmare to follow if you want to hold it at a particular boost, but it does seem very accurate (and readably accurate - rather than guesswork - when the numbers settle) and is pretty clear what's going on at WOT. And a pretty little light that blinks as well when you tell it to (I actually find this pretty helpful!)

I've got a HKS mechanical meter 60mm -1.0bar/markings finish at +2.1bar, but it should show 3.0bar
It shows 1 bar per quater/ The 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock position shows -1/0bar. 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock shows 0/+2 where the markings finish at 2.1bar but there's no needle stop so if the needle keeps on moving 3 to 6 o'clock positions would show +2/+3 bar?
I'm just about to put it in the for sale section if your interested, thanks Roy

You can either pay losts of money for a namebrand car gauge whose internals and (hence) accuracy may be questionable, or you can by a pressure gauge from a pressure gauge manufacture. Try WIKA (we often use them for biomedical instrument development test rigs) - a (way more than needed) accurate gauge of 50 to 60mm diameter (liquid filled for dampening) should be no more than AU$100 (40 poundish). Try:

They do LOTS of different models plus you can easily have rear port entry (as opposed to bottom port entry normally utilised for industrial applications).
Oh yeah, electronic versions are also available, plus temp, etc, etc.
Plenty of other quality gauge manufacturers are out there.
Hope this helps,
Adam
(PS - if your after looks, then well, I think the industrial gauges are much more sexy!!!)
