After fitting the knocklink setup (set to max sensitivity) on my STi V5 heres what im experiencing. If i take the revs up relatively slowly then only one green LED, if i thrash the thing then maybe two green LED's. However when i change gear and get back on the throttle after changing gear (foot down) i get a blip on the big red LED which very quickly drops back down to one or two greens.
Ive heard that the forged pistons of STi's tend to produce more noise but this wouldnt explain what im getting.
Would too much boost do this? (caused by the mods ive done to the breathing of the car)
Can anyone shed any light or had similar experience that they found to be a problem?
Car is run on optimax, decatted, hks induction.
Any info would be greatfully received.

Probably a combination of what you've done - the additional breathing will lean the mixture, and any extra boost you've got at will promote det.
Changing the map in some manner (simple fueling device, boost controller, etc. up to a full replacement ECU) is probably the only way around it, except removing all the mods...

Hi Triple
Sounds a bit like transition det, just feed the power in rather than stomping on it.
Decatted late STIs with induction kits generally run lean, make sure you only run on Optimax and booster.
If it were me, I'd get a remap (in fact I did !!) .... talk to Bob Rawle.
Cheers

Im looking at the ecutek remap at the mo.
I thought optimax already had booster in? If this is the case is it ok to add more? (ive got a crate of millers under the bed!)
