Hi, could someone tell me what sort of power gains I would be looking at if I installed the following on my MY97 UK turbo.
Current set-up:
Full decat Magnex exhaust system.
Blitz Induction kit
Dawes racing boost controller at 15 psi.
About to install the following:
APS SR30 Turbo
APS Duel entry top mounted intercooler
APS Cool air intake.
Any info would be appreciated

Well, one bit of info that you need but didn't ask for is that you're going to need a remap as well With that little lot it's probably not going to make the oem ecu very happy - and the cold air thingy could put the engine in quite a bad way! (without the remap, that is - with it, it's a pretty nice little setup, I'd say )

Agree with nom,
the first 3 wont be much of a problem but then upgrading your turbo, intercooler etc will make your car run badly if not lean
You need a decent ecu upgrade (a link or the likes, not some cr@p superchip thing that thinks it can do the job).
This way you can eliminate the dawes device as you can have the boost mapped into the ecu, id suggest speaking to Bob Rawle? as he maps ecu's for a living

Hi, thank you Tony and nom for your comments….I was thinking about a Unichip, would this be ok with the above items?
Also I live near Salisbury, could anyone recommend a place that could do all this for me?
I was thinking about having it all done at Owen Developments in Oxford but is there anything closer?
Many thanks

You need something that can independently adjust fuelling and timing. Unichip or Link can do this. With the Unichip, you will probably continue with the Dawes to control the boost. Your engine will very probably detonate itself to pieces (really) if you do not map the ECU with your proposed setup. Speak to www.brdevelopments.com about a Link ECU would be my advice.

I think it needs to be STRESSED that without a RE-MAP the APS cold air intake, could very possibly DAMAGE the engine. This is well documented, and I thought that this was stated by APS.
With a re-map, the product apparently works very well.
Mark.

The last contact I had with APS they were going to arrange for an insert to go into the packaging for the APS HFA induction kit to say that a remap was essential.
Let's put it this way - on fitting 550cc injectors, the fuelling on a wideband lambda sensor was as would be expected on 440cc injectors at full load if I was using the original Subaru intake.
It is not just APS though, I had to add about 20% fuel to a car with HKS induction. Bob reported similar results.
