well what can i say i was after more power but if its too much hastle then ill leave it NOT
what the best way to go around it ??
dave...
i have a TD05 on there. and its a straight thru scorpion system
not just a back box hehhe
the ecu is from a 95wrx.
the ecu has the same connector on it as my old ecu

MY00 - Very different. Fuel rails are not bolted together. Injector sits straight. Injectors have 4 holes at the tip, instead of a single hole ( better spray pattern I assume ) Fuel rails bolt from below ( just different fitment, see my aluminion bracket, to bolt onto my early manifold ) The bodies of the injectors are also larger ( no idea what difference that makes though )
The actual fuel line path is less restrictive, with less bends etc. The 2 sides are linked by flexible pipe ( as per early )but it has flared pipe ends, making it very easy to adapt to parallel, as it just involves re-plumbing the flexi bits, plust the addition of a remote FPR.
MY90-96 - None of the above
MY97-99 - Fuel rail fitments are different again, and MY00 rails are a bollox to fit to that manifold.

ok
mate of mine has just given me an sti5 inlet manifold, whic if im correct should have bigger injectors than my93 wrx.
so the question is, will i be able to put the thing on mine
he also gave me the ecu
he said the fuel pump is there also if i need it, i was thinkin i would to compensate for the more fuel being pumped into the larger injectors.
im sure dave wallis can verify this
thanks in adv....

Most of the bits are different from the early cars to the later ones, sti5 is a lter one, so, although they look similar, I would say, (I could be wrong) that the gains wouldn't be worth the effort.

im sure the sti5 is 98 onwards??
If so then it wont fit... eitherway the ecu is useless without the wiring loom... std fuel pumps are crap and arent worth anything..
and you have phase 1 injectors, and sti5 would be phase 2 which are top feed..
Depends what you want to achieve... what sort of power are you after?? You arent going abouve 350bhp without getting bigger injectors... what Ecu are you running at the moment?
Also I would look to replace your turbo.... What downpipe are you running, is it still just the backbox??

Phase 2 are side feed, just bigger bodied. The phase 2 fuel rails and injectors can be made to fit the early pre96 manifold without too much difficulty.
Do you actually need the bigger injectors yet?
Yup, apparently all std fuel pumps are crap
And I dont really see any point in trying to change the manifolds, unless it is really necessary. ( It is actually pretty pointless to change and would definately not be worth the hassle, assuming you could get the ISCV, TPS etc to work )

New model impreza's are top feed.
These are side feed, just the bodies are bigger, and the injectors have 4 holes at the tip. The fuel rails could also be quite easily parallel fed.
As fitted to the MY00 manifold
As fitted to the Pre MY96 type manifold
The rails simply have flared ends, so adapting them to parallel would be wuite easy. I did shorten part of mine, to make it easirr fitting, and re-flared it. I didnt bother with the parallel mod, coz I never really thought about it at the time. Just put my FSE regulator back on.
