Just Fried My Clutch
#1
Just home from the garage, where i was told i've broken the springs on the clutch plate- it's only been back on the road a fortnight after being repaired from my run-in with a deer so this aint my month!
Wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with an uprated Black Diamond clutch?
If so is it worth buying one over a standard one?
I have a 94 WRX RA with full de-cat, induction kit and plans for a dawes.

Might consider that actually.
Standard should of coped but changed down to 2nd and tried to boot it away from my mate on his R1(i know- stupid move!) then when changing up i realised all was not well.
At least i could set my mind at ease by getting an highly uprated one. Think it'll always be in the back of my mind it'll happen again.

I would have a word with mark aigin (R19KET) m@rk-a.com.
He sells upraterd clutches such as the one for mine and his car, which have been tested at well over 400lbft. Trout and mark have driven these extensively, as has pat in his car, and the feel is no different from a normal clutch.

its not a paddle clutch, they are the on/off ones you mention, AP racing do them for about 20 quid more, so its down to personal choice if you want it like that, otherwise the organic ones allow a little more slip, like a normal subaru one.
My old subaru one was knackered. Couldnt even do a 1.0 corsa off the lights, and that looked funny to see me trying ! ! lol

i use the ap organic clutch, smooth as a normal one. had 9000miles of stick, and when i took the engine out, plate still looks unworn.
rating for these is 350 lb ft of torque.
