Question

I might have an oil leak after recent oil change. I can smell oil fumes after driving-outside car and in the engine bay. My mechanic (non-Subaru) has inspected it and declaired it clear of significant oil leaks or any loose breather pipes-that he can see!Any suggestions anyone please?
94' UK Turbo 70k ; 3" bore cat back exhaust is the only mod.

Check that the oil hasn't been over filled first - it should be between the 'low' and 'high' marks - over the 'high' mark is really rather bad & the oil level should be dropped.
On the 'smell' side of things (after clearing the above up), I'd let it go for a little while & see if the smell persisits. It may well just be a drop spilt during the change which is burning off so nothing to worry about.

I don't think I'd like to smell teen spirit very much.
Probably a bit whiffy.

Any sign of oil on the floor?
Sometimes the cam cover half moons in the gaskets deteriorate. A small drip hits the hot exhaust and burns/evapourates giving the smell with no visible leek on the floor.
