DCCD tech question
Dear Subaru guru’s I need your help.
car: jdm Sti 2003
so the car was part stripped and hand brake removed and replaced with a hydraulic hand brake.
the hand brake light is constantly on which I understand opens the central diff.
I have located the hand brake wire which is the pink one that goes to the dccd controller behind the steering column.
that wire is a constant earth. I have tried putting an earth switch on it to mimic the hand brake switch, but on or off makes no diff the light stays on and diff open.
I’ve seen that the voltage changes from 0.4v to 8v when the hand brake is on/off which the dccd controller registers to open/close diff.
Might be worth mentioning I’ve also removed the abs.
how can I fix the dccd issue?
thank you

Assuming the 2003 JDM systems are the same as the UK MY04 versions there are 6 connections to the ABS system.

Thank you Don.
I will have a proper look through that as had suspected the break in abs link may have affected the dccd.
the trick will be to work out which wires to join to make the car think the abs is still there

I’ve found the abs pin out on this site half way down the thread…
https://www.subaruforester.org/threa...for-abs.11414/
What to connect?
what to use a resistor on?
what to do to trick the car the abs is still there?

It looks like the abs warning light is linked to the parking brake light.
if I can get the light out would that trigger the ecu to think the abs is there?
sounds a bit too simple, but if it does then would the earth switch I’ve put on the hand brake wire allow the dccd to work?

So just a quick update, the mapdccd cost £360 plus £85 import etc.
I’m getting it delivered in a few days and then car will be with Simon at chevron end of June 👍
I’ll do another update once all is done ✅
