2005 STi 6 speed Bellhousing removal & speedo drive
Hi All
Looking for a quick reply if possible
Is it possible to remove the Bellhousing without disassembling the rest of the gearbox??
Reason being, is my speedo drive is not moving, it appears to be stuck solid, I have tried to move it with a large screw driver but obviously worried about busting it (even more??)
I'd hoped to be able to just unbolt and pull the Bellhousing off in one go.
I appreciate it houses the front diff so I'm guessing this has the potential to stop this happening??
Any help much appreciated

Okay, I have the Bellhousing off, that wasn't a problem.
I haven't taken the diff out because I would like to negate having to that if possible!
But my speedo drive just doesn't turn, it's solid in there!
If I spin the diff, the plastic wheel on the end of the shaft just lifts over the drive grooves, making a clicking noise but not turning!
Anyone experienced this before?
I've put a load of penetrate oil in the hole hoping it will free it up??
Any thoughts on this??
