Default Driveshaft sealant

Hi everyone
Looking for some advice

I got a late blobeye widetrack DCCD box
That runs male front shafts

I need to run stub axles to run earlier female shafts

I’ve bought the new seals as there different

Just wondering can they be replaced with out taking the
Front diff preload adjuster out?

I’ve been told some got to be removed as they got to come out the back of preload ring,

The male stubs found on MY04 onwards sre the spring clip type which is designed to be removed without accessing the clip. (Same design as the male ended shafts)
All the pre 04 stubs I've encountered have a conventional type circlip which require access hence a strip down as you describe.

Correct. The later boxes don’t have the external lip to retain the seal.
