Recommend a garage in Surrey for servicing
Just coming up to 40k and need a service, plugs and a cambelt change.
Can anyone recommend somewhere within about 20 miles of Weybridge, Surrey?
Current favorite is Cheam motors as i've used them for bits and bobs and they've always been good. Never used them for servicing though.
Not too fussed on labour rate , just want a good job done.

I'm also in Weybridge, and it's worth going down to Cheam. I used to use Bell and Colville but after they stiched me up on pricing, and treated me like something nasty on the sole of their shoe (maybe not owning a Lotus was a big no-no?), I've given them a miss and used Cheam.
Cheam were very helpful with two warranty claims for juddering clutches.

Despite being a long time customer spending thousands of pounds in the past, I won't be using Cheam Motors in the future.
My last service was for a service, gearbox oil change and to look at the rear brakes.
Service and gearbox oil changed, with faults on the brakes diagnosed.
All of the above was fine and costs as expected.
I book the car in for the rear brakes to be done on a day off.
I was promised the car would take three hours to do.
The car was dropped off at 9.30am and was not completed until just before 6pm.
Paid nearly the service price again, which I thought was steep!
A few days later the ABS light started flashing.
Called Cheam who said, it's just a sensor book the car in although the car won't have ABS!
I don't book the car in, as I'll need to take another days holiday.
I pop in a few days later inbetween Christmas and New Year, hoping they could have a quick look.
It only needs connecting to a Select Monitor or on the ramp to find the problem.
Nope, it will need to be booked in.
There use to be a time when they would have quickly had a look, especially as it occurred due to work carried out by Cheam.
It seems customer service from the service department is suffering because time and money are more important, even to someone who has spend a lot of money with the servicing and parts department in the past.
I have yet to use an alternative, but Len at Subaru4You comes highly recommended.

I live a less than three miles from Cheam Motors and have used them for servicing and other work in the past. Never had a problem with their work although customer service never scored that high with those who eventually answered the phones. Took my car to Len at Subaru4You for a routine service and some other minor work about 2.5 years ago. Never been anywhere else since.
Never had any reason to believe Cheam did anything other than a good job, but am convinced Len does (if you know what i mean) the vast difference in prices and attitude are a very pleasant bonus too.

Thanks guys, I took it to Cheam in the end. It's handy for me as the train station just round the corner gets me home for a fiver and means I don't need a lift through the traffic.
They were pleasant and took time to explain everything that was done, the car came back as quoted with only the cambelt tensioner as an extra cost.
I'll use them again for the next service.
