Question

Im due 82.5k service within the next few months and living on the south coast the options are limited (and DO NOT include Botley )

so a beano off to Haslemere it is then (unless there is an independant within an hour of Portsmouth?).

How much can I expect an 82.5k service to cost, and the 90k thereafter as well.

I seem to recall a chap in Reading, Berks. that did servicing or something like that, anybody any ideas please?

I was talking to Jen & Chris about this last night. The options down here are running out. The independant in Wilton I was using seems to be in trouble..... which leaves ‘Englands No 1 dealer’ I guess they are mopping up business from everyone else which is closing, and cant book cars in for approx 3 weeks. Millway @ Basingstoke is a possability even though they are no longer a main dealer and perhaps now go under a different name?

I think you are refering to www.subaru4you.co.uk ....had a service with them but then couldnt justify fuel costs on the smaller services. May re-think though in the future and always get good comments on here.

If you are thinking about servicing, I guess the car is going to be o.k

See you soon mate

Give Len at subaru4you a call, find the number on his website, he uses genuine parts and good quality oil. His service price for an interim is about £95 all in. He is based in Theale, nr Reading so I guess it's the guy you're thinking of. He did my 45000 servive last weekend and I was well chuffed with the price and service, would reccomend him to anyone. BTW I had a 170 mile round trip to get there and still saved s**tloads

Thumbs up

thats what Im thinking, im due 82.5k which I believe is a £95 interim, but the biggie after that is 90k, which according to his website is only £515
If, as you say its genuine parts and the technicians are scooby trained then thats a bargain!
Im in Pompey so its a day off work job, but at least our local "no 1 dealer in England" doesnt get a sniff of it

Cool

Andy,

My interim service was done on a Sunday afternoon...... i think alot of people take there cars up at weekends. If you are sorting an interim soon then we could do a joint booking and I will get my gearbox oil changed?

I was there with Len on Saturday morning while he did my service, he only uses top quality parts for his servicing, genuine oil filter, cambelt, NGK plugs, Motul synthetic oil, etc . The main cost of my service was in the parts, also he keeps stuff like cambelt tensioners in stock, which I had to have as mine was goosed. This guy is a seriously good mechanic and is dead cheap compared to the dealers. I'm not at all connected, and am only too quick to give bad feedback when required, but this outfit deserve all the praise they get.

Peanuts,
I think you may be referring to a thread that was posted on 27th july.
Apparently there is a chap at Reading named Colin Minton who operates out of a workshop on Langley Hill. His mobile number is 07771767874.
Hope this helps.
