After mucho searching of both Internet and heart settled on Subaru Service Centre in Sheffield to due the dreaded Cam belt change on my 99 turbo.
Like many of us I don’t exactly relish the thought of leaving my pride and joy with anybody never mind for the belt change. (Should have seen me when I went on holiday!!)
Picked it back up in the afternoon, most impressed, job done car cleaned. Even adjusted the handbrake for me (no charge).
Don’t usually recommend holiday destinations, restaurants or service centres (just in-case anything goes t*ts up) but they did a top job for me and it was a weight off my mind – loads of experience but more importantly they know Scooby’s inside out, and the price was ok.

Tel - 0114 279 811 let it ring they will eventually pick up, it’s only a very small place and they are very busy.
Don’t bother searching on the web for them just yet! They are more interested in Scooby’s than these new fangled computer thingies.

And before any wise *** asks no I am not on a retainer, just thought I would spread the word on a job well done.

Is that the joint that a few of the old boys from Bentleys started?

Just had a 60k service done with them - can confirm that they offer a good, friendly service. They've got a couple of courtesty cars now too.

Yes, they are indeed the ex-mechanics from the old main dealers, Bentley's.

Glad to hear they did a good job for you. I was (and now am!) going to use them for 45K service on my MY00 Turbo.

What did they charge you for the cambelt change ??

Just need my 45k doing on a MY00.

Can you say how much these chaps charged?

Also, I didn't think the cambelt needed doing on a MY00 until the 60k service - am I wrong?

I was quoted £175+ for a timing belt for a 95 WRX. That's using a Gates belt but i believe that they are Subaru's OEM supplier anyway. A genuine belt would add about £45 to that.
