My car is nearly up for its 45k service so what sort of money am i looking? The local dealer told me it would be 'round £450' when I asked at the 37.5k service as its when the belts get changed. anyone had it done recently and wanna comment on where is best / cheapest for this?

I take that price is a main dealer price. That price will also depend if the cam belt tensioners need replacing if they do, then slap another 100 odd quid on that price. I'd budget for £600.

It will be cheaper going to a specialist, but it depends if you want to keep FSSH

If you go to "Risborough 4wd" it will cost you ~£100 less than that. would be an hr drive from Swindon at most.......

01844 274652 and ask for Dave.

Just had it done in Eastwood motors in Lisburn (N.Ireland) £390 + they changed the plugs as I wasn't sure the last owner did.

Defo get it done at AUTOSPORTIF in Bicester (nr Oxford)

These guys are really really good (V friendly and Knowledgeable), and I have a couple of mates who have had good experience's there including a full rebuild on an STI-V5!

e.g oil change, full car overview for defects (including all wheels removed) washer fluid + brake fluid topped up etc etc, and a set of wiper blades supplied and fitted for £120!!!

They do the McRae rally cars!!!!!!!! so they must be good

Have Subaru not shifted the cam belt service from 45k to 60k now?

There was a thread floating around a while back.
