Gibson (between Lancaster & Preston on A6) are now independant Subaru specialists and have an impressive new look show room. Prices are cheaper now - and they did confirm a discount for SIDC memebers. I am awaiting confirmation of how much and on what

Unhappy

Spill the beans Nutter - by e-mail is probably best. I'm just about to require a 30k service and if there is genuine concern I may be bothered to go further afield. - Who do you use from this area?

What's wrong with Gibsons Scooby Nutter? I'm supposed to be having my 45,000 on my 93 WRX there on Monday and I'm a little concerned now On the plus side I'm a SIDC member so will try for that discount now

555boy why not intermoto!
it startedd on delivery of my new car.
had a prodrive spoiler fitted, they made a mess of my boot with scratches and a dint.then on signing for the car we were told as part of the deal that we could have 2 coats.
they never arrived, until i talked to the m.d. of international motors (subaru uk).the coats then arrived within a few days.
on the service side they could not even get the oil level correct(to much)so after every service the turbo and pipes had to be cleaned out . any problems you could always try gareth williams at his office on 01484 461 024 (intermoto director)but do not hold your breath for a answer.do i need to say any more

Charlie

Let us know how you get on with the discount !

Last info sheet from Gibsons quoted £283.57 for 45k service (using Mobil Super not Mobil-1 !), claiming typical dealer price to be £350!

Cheers

I've been quoted £334 for my WRX including Mobil 1 Motorsport oil. Seems a bit of an increase for different oil or is it because I've got an import so they can charge what they like I'll confront them about it on Monday and I'll let you know what sort of discount they give, if any

Just a quick note to say I had my service done by Gibsons today. Took a bit longer than estimated but they did a great job. Even sorted my loose front grill without me asking and without charging me (I hadn't got around to doing it) When the time to pay came about I was pleasantly surprised to find they had already knocked off a discount for being a SIDC member - must have seen the tax disc holder. All in all it saved me about £30 so it's paid for the membership (between 5%-10% depending on parts and labour)

Only down side was the courtesy car - Hyundai Lantra 1.5 that was in need of some serious work, lots of strange knocking noises, crunching 3rd gear and a very erratic idle They could of lent me a new WRX

I certainly won't have a problem going back again, they even used the correct grade of Mobil 1 Motorsport

Also noticed that they have swapped my tyres, front to back, and reconnected a disconnected alarm wire for me. Didn't know these had been done as they didn't charge me for it, and I only noticed last night

So come on, what's wrong with Gibsons then? I was going to buy an import off them, saves the hassle of going back to Holland again........perhaps you'd like to let me know direct (please)

Charlie - yes I too was honoured by being allowed to drive the Lantra - The handling has to be experienced to be believed eh? - Anyway can't complain for £5 the day

Servicing seems OK 5% off oils and 10% off parts and £29 something for labour.

My manual says that the coolant should have been changed at 30k - doesn't appear on the bill - maybe it was free - lucky 1000th customer --> free coolant?

Mick, couldn't believe it. My friend over in Preston is a student at a dance school and loves the scoob. She'd told all her friends about it and wanted me to go and pick her up. You should have seen her face when I pulled up in the Lantra Priceless. Anyway, I would recommend them to anyone, absolutley no reason for complaint

Picked up new WRX up from Gibson's and they carried out all the work superbly - and I'm very picky.
