Ok the time has come to make the all important purchase. I want to buy from a good Subaru dealer. Good aftersales, good support you know what I mean.

What better way than a recommendation from happy customer.

I would like to buy from the bedfordshire area but if it's a really good Subaru dealer then I'm will to travel within reason.

I'm aiming for the STI 7 standard form don't like the bumper on the Prodrive version.

Any idea on the wait times for these cars?

I'll second Beechdale in Notts. Derby one should be OK too (probably ).

Notts is my local and have not had a problem with their quality of work and allowance on mods and warranty claims

Can't fault Andrew Burt in Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire. Fab service, and friendly too. When it was due for a service they sent somebody to pick it up, and brought i back all spankly clean for me. Really happy with them!!

Excellent service, honest, good trade-in value, low finance, kept me informed of the progress of the order with regard to delivery dates etc, and car turned up when he said it would

Just to add my recommendation for Beechdale Notts.
Regularly used for servicing (700+miles/week) and haven't been unhappy yet. Very helpful, friendly and eager to please.
Their pricing seems fairly keen to me as well judging by some of the 'quoted' dealer prices I see posted on here.

Just remember that for everyone that swears by a dealer, there's someone who swears about them.

Listers (01905 640512) have been very good to me. I got a good deal with them, and have had excellent service ever since. However, if you're only after the best deal, your best bet would just be to call a load of dealers. It doesn't matter where they are if you're only going to there once.

This is a first when it comes to dealers but I agree with Josh... for everyone who swears by a dealer, there's someone who swears about them. I might just be that person.

As for good dealers IMHO Showells of Stourbridge are very good. Another one that I've used recently for servicing are Adams in Aylesbury. They are closer to you and were ok if a little slow.

Personally I would choose a garage that I liked and wasn't too far away. Then I would ring round several other garages putting them against each other to find the best deal. Once you have the best price, go to your preferred garage and get them to match it.

I was very impressed with Welch Group in Shelford, just outside Cambridge, (01223 843015). Recently purchased a used car from them and felt that they went out of their way to please. Also got the impression that they were very honest and genuine when it came to the condition of the car, which I gather is a rare trait among quite a few car dealers, especially when buying used. I can't vouch for the entire team, but the guy I dealt with was great.

Then again, it could just be that where I'm from we're too used to dealing with people who don't appear to need your business.
